Debatably, Angelina Jolie’s the world’s most physically faultless female, from her vivid bottle-green eyes to those flawless curves (recall her as Lara Croft?), she’s consistently seen making everyone within her vicinity feel really drab and bit bloated.
So it’s unsurprising that Angelina Jolie ended up with Brad Pitt, another human who looks like he’s been genetically engineered in a lab, in the good way, not the getting an ear grown on his back way. Between them, ‘Brangelina’ have become serial overachievers, consistently doing excellent things, while simultaneously assuring the world that they’re not breaking up. Because why would they?
The serial mother has a flock of six children, three of whom were adopted following visits to Cambodia, Namibia and Vietnam. But Oscar winning Angelina Jolie still finds time to carry out some mad crazy humanitarian work for the UN, star in blockbuster films likeWanted, The Tourist, Salt and Kung Fu Panda: Secrets of the Masters. Kate Middleton became one of the most recognisable names in the world just for being posh and hot. A perfect combination if you want to bag yourself a Prince, although it was a stroke of luck that put Middleton in Wills’ firing line. Everyone knows that choosing a Uni is a big decision but, for Kate, filling out her UCAS form was like buying herself a winning lottery ticket. Sort of.
She met Prince William at the University of St Andrews, and came up with a cunning plan to woo him: she wore a see-through dress and walked down a catwalk in front of him. Yup, she got her man by strutting her stuff in some sexy black lingerie covered by what was basically a glorified mosquito net. It would have worked on us, too. Miley Cyrus has been around for a long time, and caused a lot of controversy, for someone who only turned 18 at the end of 2010. She started her career young, taking acting and singing classes at the age of eight, and within a year had appeared on her dad’s drama show Doc. She popped up a couple of times on the show, and at the age of 10 she had a part in Tim Burton’s Big Fish.
In her first few roles Miley Cyrus was credited as Destiny Hope Cyrus – her birth name – but when she landed the lead role in Hannah Montana at the age of 12 she was using her nickname ‘Miley’, which apparently was a shortened version of Smiley because she smiled a lot as a kid. Anyway, the most annoying role in television was hers, and her career took off.
Disney made the most of Miley Cyrus’ success, capitalising on her singing ability in the show to produce soundtracks and launch Miley’s music career out of it. When she was 15, she earned $18 million, and made $25 million the following year. Rich. As. But intense interest in her meant the squeaky clean image was never going to last. When she was 16, someone hacked one of her email accounts and leaked a bunch of pictures of her in her underwear on the internet. Then, still 16, a few provocative pictures and a pole dancing sequence at a teen awards really annoyed parents. The biggest one though came when Miley Cyrus was filmed smoking a bong just after her 18th birthday. Badass.

Paris Hilton is significantly smarter than she lets on. In between her reality TV shows, a drink driving volation and that infamous sex tape, she gives the impression of not being all there – and you’d not be the first to assume that she’s just another ditzy blonde.
But Paris Hilton’s done remarkably well. Consider this – Paris doesn’t have to make any money at all. Her job description as Heiress basically ensures that she’s set for life, and her dad’s chain of hotels would keep her in big glasses and tiny dogs as long as she wanted.
But in 2005, Paris Hilton raked in $7 million on her own – and by the looks of it, she didn’t have to work too hard to get it, either. She’s clearly not just a pretty face, even if a lot of her fame rests on convincing us all that she is.
As well as trying to find a series of best friends through a bunch of reality shows (a process which we can’t entirely endorse, but you can’t fault Paris Hilton for attempting to use the scientific method in what is normally such a haphazard affair) she’s tried her hand at acting, too – most notably the 2005 slash-em-up House of Wax but also putting in an actually-remarkably-good performance in Repo! The Genetic Opera as the psychotic Amber Sweet.
And through all of her bad behaviour and apparent air-headedness, she remains unapologetic, which we entirely respect. She’s incredibly divisive and made a career out of being someone that people love to hate – a bit like Jeremy Kyle. But better-looking, obviously.

Having done a bunch of modelling gigs – including one for the similarly flame haired Nicola Roberts’ make-up range – she showed up as part of the cast on The Kevin Bishop Show and nailed a parody of Katy Perry’s I Kissed A Girl amongst other things. See, she’s funny too. And no, she didn’t do it as a ginger Katy Perry.
After that you might have seen Karen Gillan in one of the lead roles of The Well, which was broadcast on BBC Two and then later online when it wasn’t considered good enough to have a slot on the terrestrial channel.
